Judge bars Trump admin from closing US peace institute, says its takeover by DOGE 'illegal'

A US federal judge has blocked the Trump administration's attempt to dismantle the United States Institute of Peace (USIP), deeming the takeover by the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) as illegal. Judge Beryl Howell stated that the removal of the board by the administration was unconstitutional, rendering subsequent actions null and void.
