Govt cuts edible oil import duty by 10 percentage points to tame soaring prices

The government has reduced the basic customs tax on crude edible oils by 10 percentage points, effective Friday, to combat rising prices. This decision aims to lower the costs of palm oil, soyoil, and sunflower oil, bringing the effective duty down to 16.5%.
