Schools, colleges shut in Dharwad as IMD issues red alert for torrential rain across Karnataka

Following a red alert by the IMD, Dharwad authorities declared a day’s holiday for all schools and colleges on Thursday. Torrential rain caused waterlogging in several areas, especially Hubballi’s Hanashi village. The IMD has forecast widespread rainfall across Karnataka until June 17, with heavy to extremely heavy showers expected in coastal, north interior, and southern districts.
