Diana Penty nearly starred opposite Ranbir Kapoor in Imtiaz Ali's Rockstar. She attended workshops but felt unready. A year later, she got a call for Cocktail. Imtiaz Ali remembered her and thought she fit the role. Diana auditioned and got the part within 24 hours. Cocktail became a hit, launching her Bollywood career alongside Saif Ali Khan and Deepika Padukone.
