Student loan forgiveness under IBR plan temporarily paused in the US: What borrowers need to know now
Posted
In the United States, the Education Department has paused the Income-Based Repayment plan. This impacts nearly two million student loan borrowers. The pause is due to legal challenges and recalculations across repayment programs. Borrowers should continue making payments during this time. Refunds will be provided for overpayments. The IBR plan remains active, but forgiveness processing is on hold.
