Private sector workers in Oman now entitled to mandatory annual performance-based bonuses

Oman's Ministry of Labour has mandated a minimum annual performance-based bonus for Omani private sector employees, effective January 1, 2026. Ministerial Decision No. 317/2025 ensures bonuses from 2% to 5% of basic salary for “Acceptable” to “Excellent” performance. Employers can reduce or suspend bonuses only with Ministry approval for economic reasons or during disciplinary investigations.
