Afghanistan: UN to provide vocational training to women; Taliban restrictions on education remain

After the Taliban's ban on girls' education in Afghanistan, UNICEF, in partnership with Japan, is launching a vocational training program for 200 girls in Herat province. This six-month initiative aims to empower girls aged 15-25 from disadvantaged backgrounds with skills like sewing and carpet weaving, fostering their livelihood and independence amidst social and political challenges.
