Karnataka government to frame state-specific education policy, expand schools, colleges, and vocational training

Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah announced plans for a state-specific education policy aimed at holistic youth development, following recommendations for a two-language system and early instruction in Kannada or the mother tongue. The government is upgrading colleges, establishing 13 technical institutions, launching 500 Karnataka Public Schools, and expanding vocational training, while promoting women’s empowerment through initiatives like Akka Cafes.
