Assam: AIUDF Chief Spokesperson Aminul Islam says,

"Cabinet of Assam took the decision to repeal the Muslim Marriage & Divorce Registration Act 1935 and Qazis Act 1880. A cabinet can't make a decision against an existing law. If the law wasn't good, amend it through a bill. It is dictatorship, unconstitutional and anti-democratic. We opposed it and brought an adjournment motion but there is 'no scope for the discussion'. This is an election-oriented decision as they (BJP) are doing anti-Muslim things so that the majority can vote for them."
