जब राजा दशरथ ने शब्दवेधी वाण मारा तब वह एक मनुष्य को लग गया और मनुष्य की चीत्कार सुनकर वे उस दिशा में भागे ।
उन्हें दिखा की एक मनुष्य के सीने में वाण लग गया है और रक्त बहुत अधिक निकल रहा है
उस व्यक्ति ने राजा दशरथ को देखते ही कहा की राजन आप भयभीत न हों आपके उपर ब्रह्म हत्या नहीं लगने जा रही है ।
वह बालक श्रवण कुमार था ।
हम एक समाज के रूप में आज सोचें .. क्या राजा दशरथ को ब्रह्महत्या लगती ? वह तो लगनी ही नहीं थी । पर स्वयम् की मृत्यु निश्चित जानते हुए भी अपने हत्यारे को भी भय मुक्त कर देने की क्षमता उस वैश्य बालक श्रवण कुमार में थी । वह उस अवस्था में भी दूसरे का कल्याण सोच रहा था ।
उसने पुनः राजा को बताया की उसके माता-पिता को पानी पिलाना तुरंत आवश्यक है अन्यथा वे शाप दे सकते हैं और उन्हें पानी पिलाने के बाद ही आप बताइएगा की मैं अब उन्हें और तीर्थयात्रा नहीं करवा पाऊँगा ।
आज हम रामराज की कामना करते हैं पर क्या हम समाज के रूप में कभी भी स्वयम् पर दृष्टि डालते हैं?
