US Education Department launches investigation into DC public schools over special education violations
Posted
The US Department of Education has launched an investigation into District of Columbia Public Schools (DCPS) over concerns of failing to meet the special education needs of students. Following a December 2024 report citing the highest rate of special education complaints in the nation, the investigation will examine whether DCPS is violating federal laws. The district faces criticism for its transportation issues and the legal battles parents face to secure services for their children.
