Maharashtra govt spends Rs 47 lakh to acquire historic ‘Raghuji Sword’ of Nagpur's Bhonsle dynasty

The Maharashtra government has successfully acquired the historic 'Raghuji Sword' for Rs 47.15 lakh. This centuries-old weapon belonged to Raje Raghuji Bhonsle, founder of the Nagpur's Bhonsle dynasty. Secured through an auction in London conducted by Sotheby’s, the sword, also known as a khanda, features a European-style blade and gold-inlaid Devanagari script, reflecting its historical significance and Maratha heritage.
