Take 'preemptive measures' to protect vulnerable people from heat: NHRC to 11 states

The National Human Rights Commission has urged authorities nationwide to protect vulnerable populations from rising heatwave dangers. Citing NCRB data showing 3,798 heat-related deaths between 2018 and 2022, the NHRC has directed 11 states, including Uttar Pradesh and Maharashtra, to implement preemptive measures.
