Vodafone Idea to amend shareholders’ pact to retain promoter control despite government's 49% stake
Posted
Vodafone Idea's board has approved amending its shareholder agreement, lowering the qualifying threshold to 10% and excluding the government's stake for governance. This allows Aditya Birla Group and Vodafone Group to retain control despite the government becoming the largest shareholder with 48.99% after converting debt into equity. The move aims to maintain operational continuity amidst Vi's ₹2.17 lakh crore debt.
