US: Illinois man sentenced to 53 years in prison for stabbing 6-year-old Palestinian-American child

Joseph Czuba, a 73-year-old Illinois landlord, received a 53-year prison sentence for fatally stabbing six-year-old Wadee Alfayoumi and severely injuring his mother, Hanan Shaheen. Motivated by anti-Muslim bias amid the Israel-Gaza conflict, Czuba attacked his tenants in their Plainfield home. Evidence included disturbing crime scene details and testimony revealing Czuba's declaration that the victims "must die" due to their faith.
