US to establish second military zone along Mexican border to support crackdown on illegal border crossings

The U.S. Defense Department has established a second military zone in Texas along the Mexican border to aid in immigration law enforcement, mirroring a similar zone in New Mexico. Military personnel are authorized to detain migrants crossing illegally until Homeland Security takes custody.
