Gunman kills three in Thailand's conflict-hit south

In Thailand's insurgency-hit south, a gunman opened fire in Tak Bai district, Narathiwat province, resulting in the deaths of three people, including a nine-year-old girl and a 75-year-old man. Two others were wounded in the attack. Police suspect the perpetrator has links to a rebel group, as violence continues to plague the region where separatists have caused unrest since 2004.
