Malayalam cinema is mourning the death of Shaji N Karun at 73, his long-held dream of filming 'Kadal' remains unfulfilled. The director envisioned Jaya Bachchan as the mother and considered Mohanlal for a key role, but financial difficulties and other challenges prevented the film's production despite interest from various actors and producers.
