IIT-Kharagpur student found dead in hostel
Posted
Mohammad Asif Qamar, an IIT Kharagpur student, tragically died by suicide in his hostel room during a video call with a friend in Delhi, who alerted authorities. This incident, the second in a short period, has prompted IIT Kharagpur to form a committee to investigate the rising number of suicides on campus. While no prior mental health concerns were identified, Qamar had faced an exam malpractice issue earlier this year.
