ICAR: World’s first genome-edited rice varieties to boost yields 30%
نشر بتاريخ
India's agricultural research body, ICAR, has developed two genome-edited rice varieties, 'DRR Dhan 100 (Kamala)' and 'Pusa DST Rice 1', promising a 20-30% yield increase. Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan anticipates a second green revolution with these climate-resilient, high-yielding crops. Expected to be available to farmers in two years, these varieties aim to save water, reduce methane emissions, and boost paddy production by 4.5 million tons across five million hectares.
