In Sambhal, 33 private schools have been fined Rs 1 lakh each by the district administration for violating state regulations. An investigation revealed that these schools were compelling students to purchase textbooks from specific vendors and utilizing materials from private publishers. This contravenes the Uttar Pradesh Self-Financed Independent Schools (Fee Regulation) Act, prompting the penalties.
