Government seals trade pact with UK: Tariffs cut, savings for Indians on work visas
Posted
After three years of negotiations, India and the UK have finalized a trade agreement that eliminates tariffs on 99% of Indian exports and reduces duties on 90% of tariff lines. The deal includes exemptions from social security contributions for Indian workers on temporary visas, potentially saving them around 20% of their salary. PM Modi highlighted the agreement's potential to boost trade, investment, and job creation in both economies.
