Operation Sindoor 2025: Where are schools closed amid rising border tensions?

Following Operation Sindoor, launched by India on May 7, 2025, schools and educational institutions have been closed across several border districts in Jammu and Kashmir, Punjab, and Rajasthan due to escalating tensions with Pakistan. Authorities have implemented precautionary shutdowns in vulnerable regions following cross-border shelling and retaliatory strikes. Educational activities remain suspended in multiple districts as security measures intensify and residents are relocated to temporary shelters near the Line of Control (LoC) and International Border (IB).
