Michigan State Representative Joe Tate has entered the race for the open US Senate seat in Michigan, joining a crowded field of Democrats. Tate, the former House Speaker, aims to build on his legislative accomplishments, including gun control and free school meals, despite recent setbacks for the state party. He faces challenges from other prominent Democrats and Republican Mike Rogers in a critical 2026 midterm election battleground.
