He scored 9230 runs in 123 matches, averaging 46.85, and captained India in 68 Tests, winning 40. While dominant from 2016-2019, his form dipped in the 2020s, though he showed resurgence in 2023. His final series was the Border-Gavaskar Trophy in Australia.
