UK: DNA evidence clears man jailed for 38 years
Posted
Peter Sullivan, a 68-year-old British man, had his 1987 murder conviction overturned after serving 38 years. The UK Court of Appeal quashed the conviction due to new DNA evidence from semen samples that excluded him as the killer of Diane Sidwell. Sullivan's initial conviction relied on a retracted confession and discredited bite mark evidence.
