Uruguay mourned Jose Mujica's death. Thousands joined the procession in Montevideo. Mujica's coffin was carried to parliament. President Yamandu Orsi declared national days of mourning. Mujica legalized marijuana and same-sex marriage. He enacted abortion rights. He led the Tupamaros in the 1960s. Mujica died at 89. He had esophageal cancer. He was known for his simple lifestyle.
