Unemployment rate at 5.1% in April, shows 1st monthly survey

India's unemployment rate stood at 5.1% in April, according to the Periodic Labour Force Survey's first monthly bulletin. Rural areas recorded 4.5% joblessness, while urban centers saw 6.5%. Among those aged 15 and above, the unemployment rate was 5.2% for males and 5% for females. The Labour Force Participation Rate was 55.
