India’s coal imports fall 1.7% to 260 million tonnes in FY25
India's coal imports experienced a slight decrease of 1.7% in FY25, totaling 263.56 MT, while domestic coal production reached a record 1,047.57 MT. This increase in domestic output reflects the coal ministry's commitment to self-reliance and reduced import dependence.
