Waqf not a fundamental right or essential part of Islam, Centre tells Supreme Court
Postado
The Centre has informed the Supreme Court that waqf, while an Islamic concept, isn't an essential part of Islam and thus can't be claimed as a fundamental right. This statement was made during arguments defending the Waqf (Amendment) Act, 2025, which is being challenged in court.
