UN expert says Guatemalan prosecutor's office using criminal law to pursue opponents
Posted
A UN expert concluded a two-week visit to Guatemala, warning that the prosecutor's office is misusing criminal law against judges, lawyers, and journalists. Margaret Satterthwaite reported a systematic pattern of rights deprivation targeting those fighting corruption. While the Prosecutor General's Office denies the accusations, President Arevalo supports the UN expert's observations.
