Dalton cop steps down after ICE detains student wrongfully arrested over traffic stop
Posted
A Dalton police officer resigned after wrongly arresting Ximena Arias Cristobal, a 19-year-old undocumented student, for a traffic violation she didn't commit. This led to her detention by ICE. The traffic charges were dropped after a review of dashcam footage revealed the mistake, but Arias Cristobal and her father, who was also detained, now face potential deportation.
