Hawaii's governor signs new hotel tax legislation to help cope with climate change

Hawaii has enacted a new law increasing taxes on hotel stays and cruise ship bills to generate approximately $100 million annually for climate change mitigation. The funds will address issues like shoreline erosion, wildfire prevention, and native species protection.
