Cabinet approves Rs. 3,399 crore worth rail projects to boost connectivity in Maharashtra and Madhya Pradesh

The Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs has approved railway multitracking projects in Maharashtra and Madhya Pradesh, costing Rs 3,399 crore. Scheduled for completion in 2029-30, the Ratlam-Nagda and Wardha-Balharshah lines will add 176 km to the network. This expansion aims to boost freight capacity, reduce congestion, and generate employment, aligning with the PM Gati Shakti plan for multi-modal connectivity.
