Not Nargis, DP was first choice for Ranbir's 'Rockstar'

Deepika Padukone was Imtiaz Ali's initial choice for the female lead in Rockstar, opposite Ranbir Kapoor. Ali remembered a strong first impression from Padukone, even before her film debut. Ultimately, Nargis Fakhri debuted in the role of Heer, and despite initial doubts, Rockstar became a cult classic, celebrated for Ranbir's performance.
