Heavy rainfall lashes Mumbai; IMD predicts occasional spells of light rain

Mumbai experienced heavy rains, marking the earliest monsoon arrival on record. The IMD forecasts above-normal rainfall for Central and South Peninsular India during the June-September 2025 season, while Northwest India expects normal rainfall. However, Northeast India is predicted to receive below-normal rainfall, with an east-southeastward cloud cluster causing the current rains.
