Job postings in US state of Ohio rise despite year-over-year decline, data shows

Job postings across Ohio and in the Eastern region increased between March 14 and April 13, 2025, with 5,615 openings reported in Mahoning, Columbiana, Trumbull, and Ashtabula counties. Statewide listings rose to 166,696, despite year-over-year declines. Healthcare and transportation lead demand, while most roles require a GED or bachelor’s degree. The figures, reported by the Business Journal, reflect shifting employer priorities during spring hiring amid broader labor market adjustments.
