Pushkar Singh Dhami, chief minister of Uttarakhand, marked World Environment Day by planting a Sita Ashoka sapling. The event launched the "Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam" campaign. Dhami encouraged state residents to participate and honor nature while respecting their mothers. Forest minister Subodh Uniyal and chief secretary Anand Bardhan also planted trees.
