Malayalam actor Shine Tom Chacko was injured in a road accident near Salem, Tamil Nadu, resulting in the death of his father, C.P. Chacko. The family was traveling from Ernakulam to Bengaluru when a lorry collided with their car. Shine sustained a right-hand injury, while his mother, brother, and the driver received minor injuries.
