Dubai inmates competed from behind bars to secure 5th place in virtual chess championship

In a remarkable display of skill and rehabilitation, a team of inmates from Dubai Police's Correctional and Penal Institutions secured fifth place at the Asian Inmate Chess Championship. This virtual tournament, overseen by FIDE, featured 23 teams from eight Asian countries. The Dubai team, selected from 40 inmates, demonstrated strategic competence, mentored by the Dubai Chess and Culture Club.
