Four crashes in a month: DGCA cracks down on unsafe Char Dham chopper operations; may curtail operations there

Following recent helicopter crashes during the Char Dham Yatra, the DGCA has ordered special audits and enhanced surveillance of helicopter operations in Uttarakhand. The regulator is considering curtailing operations and has already suspended two operators for SOP violations. Investigations are underway to identify the causes of the accidents, including mechanical failures and weather challenges.
