Flex-fuel drive: Ministry seeks lower GST on crude ethanol

Nitin Gadkari advocates for a GST reduction on crude ethanol. He wants the tax to decrease from 18% to 5%. This change aims to boost flex-fuel vehicle manufacturing and sales. Currently, ethanol used for blending petrol has a 5% GST. Gadkari suggests equal tax rates for both crude ethanol and blended fuel.
