Ahmedabad plane crash: Air India flight AI -171 to London crashes after takeoff from Ahmedabad; MAYDAY call went unanswered, says DGCA

An Air India B787, flight AI-171, crashed immediately after takeoff from Ahmedabad, en route to Gatwick. The Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) reported 242 individuals were aboard. The aircraft, commanded by Captain Sumeet Sabharwal, issued a MAYDAY call before losing contact with ATC.
