In Tamil Nadu's Cuddalore district, a 25-year-old man, S Sundaravelu, was shot in the leg by police after he allegedly raped an 80-year-old woman and attacked them with a knife during his arrest. The incident occurred when the woman went outside, and Sundaravelu assaulted her, stealing her jewelry. Identified via CCTV footage, he was found hiding near a distillery.
