Chandigarh scores highest in school education index; big drop for Andaman, Chhattisgarh

Chandigarh has emerged as the top performer in the Education Ministry's Performance Grading Index 2023-24. While some states like Kerala and West Bengal experienced a decline, Delhi showcased the sharpest improvement. Overall, 24 states/UTs improved, narrowing the performance gap between top and bottom scorers, with Barnala district in Punjab achieving the Uttam 2 grade.
