Delhi has improved its Performance Grading Index (PGI) score by 44 points, moving from Akanshi-1 to Prachesta-3 in the 2023–24 evaluation released by the Ministry of Education. The capital made notable gains in infrastructure and governance, while maintaining strong performance in equity. However, learning outcomes and access showed limited improvement. Delhi’s progress reflects broader national trends, with 24 states and UTs improving their PGI scores, though only Chandigarh reached the Prachesta-1 grade.
