Posted
Hawai‘i’s Ready Keiki initiative will open 50 new public pre-K classrooms over the next two years, adding more than 1,000 seats statewide. Announced by Lt. Gov. Sylvia Luke on June 18, 2025, this expansion aims to provide equitable access to free, high-quality preschool for Hawai‘i’s youngest learners, especially in underserved and rural communities. The initiative includes Title I and Hawaiian language classrooms and is a major step toward universal pre-K access by 2032.
