Assam's Chief Minister, Himanta Biswa Sarma, has announced a significant increase in reservation for Anganwadi workers, raising it to 50% for supervisor posts. In a move towards social inclusion, the state cabinet has also approved OBC status for the transgender community, with identity cards issued to original inhabitants of Assam.
