Scientists use clever trick to count ghosts of the mountains
Postado
Indian wildlife scientists successfully enumerated snow leopards using a clever scent lure technique. Perfume sprayed near camera traps encouraged the elusive cats to expose their foreheads, allowing for individual identification via unique patterns. This method, detailed in a recent study, contributed to the 2019-2023 population assessment, revealing 718 snow leopards in India, with the highest concentration in Ladakh.
