1st-of-its-kind household income survey next year

India's statistics ministry is gearing up to conduct its first-ever comprehensive household income survey in 2026, aiming to enhance data-driven policy making. A technical advisory group, led by Surjit Bhalla, has been formed to guide the National Statistics Office in this endeavor.
